Watch a video of the keynote! (53:54)

In her keynote address at Java Pro Live!, Karen Bennet, vice president of tools and applications at Red Hat, described the rapid evolution of Java and J2EE technologies in the open source software community. Projects such as Jakarta, Eclipse, JOnAS, and JBoss are beginning to enjoy widespread adoption, and a trend toward the commoditization of components in the Java/J2EE infrastructure is apparent. Her presentation also reviewed how these components can be combined to create successful, cost-effective application server environments.
