Jim Heid
Longtime Lizard, Jim Heid is a computer and technology writer, Editorial Director
at Avondale Media, and Conference Chair for many Thunder Lizard conferences.
Jim’s been a Contributing Editor of Macworld Magazine since 1984, and
currently writes about Web design and multimedia-related topics: digital audio
and video, streaming media, Flash, authoring programs, and the like. As the
Web Design Conference Chair for several of Thunder Lizard events, including
the Web Design series and Macromedia Web, Jim flushes out the most important,
cutting edge conference topics, and occasionally speaks on his favorite subjects,

Michael Hollister
Michael Hollister is Vice President of Art and Production and leads a team
for the print and Web services at Fawcette Technical Publications. Michael
has been working in the publishing business over 19 years with an emphasis
in design, production, and manufacturing. His prior experience was at
Miller Freeman and M&T Publishing as art director and in production
for several technical magazines and books. Michael joins Thunder Lizard
Conferences as co-chair for the Digital Workflow track and can be reached

Michael is the author of Photoshop Power Shortcuts and is the conference chair
of this year's Photoshop Conference. Michael will fire off Photoshop and Web
graphics tips and, in an all-new session, show how to use Photoshop and Flash

Peter Truskier
Peter Truskier has over 30 years experience in the graphic arts, and has been
working with computer technology in publishing for about 20 of them. His career
has spanned working with copper engravings and indirect color separations to
copydot scanning and computer-to-plate technologies, from manual page assembly
to proprietary pagination systems and desktop publishing. As co-founder of
Premedia Systems, Peter has worked extensively in publishing workflow automation
as well as Mac OS X migration.

David Blatner
David Blatner is the author of thirteen books on topics such as digital imaging, aviation, pi, and virtual reality. Specializing in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and QuarkXPress. David's books include Real World QuarkXPress (formerly The QuarkXPress Book), Real World InDesign, Real World Photoshop, and InDesign for QuarkXPress Users. He is a contributing editor for Macworld magazine, and has spoken at conferences and workshops around North America, Japan, and South Africa.
Douglas Bowman
Douglas Bowman's highly publicized and hugely successful redesigns of sites like Wired News and Adaptive Path have pushed him to the forefront of standards-compliant web design. Doug's consulting firm, Stopdesign proves that beautiful, easily maintainable design can exist alongside simple, standards-compliant code. Prior to founding Stopdesign, Doug led the creation and implementation of design process and standards for an international network of sites under Terra Lycos and Wired Digital. Daniel Brown
From database integration to image manipulation and photo retouching, Daniel
has balanced a passion for right and left-brain abilities. With a background
in prepress, Daniel formed and coordinated the Web development team at Metagraphics
in Palo Alto California (now www.artmachine.com) with clients such as Apple
Computer, Netscape, Sun, Silicon Graphics, and Hewlett Packard. In 1998,
Daniel joined Adobe Systems in the role of Web Evangelist lending a hand
in product development, marketing, interface design, and customer education.
His role has since expanded to include DV and Motion Graphics as well. He

Cory Doctorow
Cory Doctorow (www.craphound.com) is a staffer for the Electronic Frontier
Foundation (www.eff.org), a member-supported nonprofit group that works
to uphold civil liberties interests in technology law, standards, treaties,
and policy. He is EFF's delegate to WIPO's Standing Committee on Copyright
and Related Rights, worked on the US Broadcast Flag and OASIS XrML efforts,
and is moving to London this spring to work on EU IPR and DVB efforts. He
will also be working for Creative Commons UK on ambitious open licensing
schemes involving large institutional rights-holders.
Katrin Eismann
Katrin is an internationally recognized artist, author, and educator who has
been working with digital imaging tools since 1989. Katrin's extensive teaching
and speaking engagements address the latest tools and techniques of digital
imaging and the impact they are having upon professional photographers,
artists, and educators. In 1991, she had the good fortune to become the
first intern at the Kodak Center of Creative Imaging in Camden, Maine. Three
years later she was the Director of Education and had implemented a rigorous
curriculum that focused on imaging, design, and multimedia. In 2002 she
received her MFA degree in Design from the School of Visual Arts in NYC.
She is currently working on a new book, Photoshop Masking & Compositing,

Martin Evening
Martin Evening is a London-based advertising photographer and noted expert
in both photography and digital imaging. As a successful photographer, Martin
is well known in London for his fashion and beauty work. In his recent book
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 For Photographers from Focal Press, Martin extends his
expertise to brilliant writing about difficult technical and artistic subjects.

Brian Gaughen
In 1997 Brian started working for World Color where he has orchestrated Color
calibrations throughout the Division on the Kodak Approval and other proofing
devices. In 1998, he implemented Color Management with a RGB workflow throughout
all twelve of the Que-Net facilities with success, integrating a closed-loop
system. He also worked directly with the High Profile customers to insure
the best possible color reproduction from Prepress to Press. He is currently
calibrating and profiling the Epson Proofer to match the Kodak Approvals.
Linda Manes Goodwin
Linda Manes Goodwin is a consultant to the graphic arts industry, specializing
in digital print production. Her twenty-four years experience in magazine
publishing includes the traditional areas of manufacturing. For the past
several years, however, she has focused on the design and implementation
of digital workflows, which resulted in reduced costs, shorter production
cycles and improved quality for her clients. She has defined the publishing
process—from content creation through imaging of plates, for developers.
As Vice President of Manufacturing for PC World from 1987-1999, she oversaw
all aspects of magazine production, including prepress, press, paper and
bindery. She is Vice President of the DDAP Association (Digital Distribution
of Advertising for Publications).
Kelly Goto

R. Mac Holbert
Mr. Holbert is the co-founder of Nash Editions. Widely regarded as the world’s
first digital printmaking studio, Nash Editions has established an international
reputation for fine art photographic digital output. He has served as a Beta

Jon Meyer
Jon Meyer is an artist, a teacher and a computer scientist. He has fifteen

Research Scientist at New York University¹s Media Research Laboratory.

Thad McIlroy
Thad McIlroy is an electronic publishing analyst and author, and president
of Arcadia House. A well-established expert in the technology and marketing
issues surrounding electronic publishing and color imaging. In 1988 he founded
Arcadia House, a consulting firm specializing in the implementation of electronic
publishing technology in the graphic arts and publishing industries. In
1990 he co-founded (with Miles Southworth) The Color Resource, a publishing
and distribution company devoted to books and training materials on color
design, imaging and prepress.
Steve Mulder
Manager of User Experience at Terra Lycos, Steve leads information architecture
and usability efforts for the many sites that are part of Lycos and Terra.

John Nack
John Nack is Adobe Product Manager on the Photoshop team. Prior to Adobe,
John was a Web designer in AGENCY.COM’s New York office. He developed

Elizabeth Wimmer
