ComponentOne recently introduced its ComponentOne Studio Enterprise 2004 v2. The component subscription service's latest version includes XLS for .NET, which lets users read and write Microsoft Excel files from their applications, and a new docking tab control to deliver Visual Studio .NET-style tabs and docking or floating windows. Other enhancements for .NET include PDF support for TIFF images and improved image clipping and image rendering; new RTF and Excel export formats for documents; and performance improvements for custom dictionaries. Also, WebGrid for ASP.NET lets users create reusable layouts for their WebGrid, scroll the grid horizontally and vertically, lock any row and any column, and save or load the grid during design or at run time.

Empirix has launched the latest version of its Web application testing solution, e-TEST Suite 7.0. For ASP.NET testing, e-TEST Suite's WebSmart Visual Scripting engine automatically validates the functionality and performance of thin-client ASP.NET applications. e-TEST Suite 7.0 also provides integrated .NET server monitoring with included ServerStats monitors; .NET Windows Forms testing with a new module that lets users test Web applications that have WinForms browser plug-ins; and .NET Web services testing with a Web services script generation wizard. e-TEST Suite 7.0 has been integrated with Visual Studio .NET. Its e-Manager Enterprise 3.0 test management module now includes a new test asset called Grid View, an enhanced Reports Manager user interface, and new "dashboard" reports.
