Once the investigation proceeds, the police officer communicates with a justice of the peace to obtain a search warrant. In the event of an arrest, the system automatically assigns a prosecutor, a judge, and possibly a public defender and books a court date. During the trial, all evidence is captured electronically and attached to the case file. In the event of a conviction, all pertinent information from the case file will need to be forwarded to the appropriate correctional institute and the proper alerts will need to be configured based on conviction data.
